This Sunday (April 30th) is going to be a great day! Our new pastor, Kenneth Reiter, will lead the morning service, and we will follow that with a brisket lunch prepared by the Deacons. We are asking that you please bring a dessert to share. After lunch, we will go to the sanctuary for a 5th Sunday Sing. It’s going to be a great time of fellowship, worship and praise. We hope to see you there!

We are still collecting over the counter medicines and sunglasses for our mission trip to Guatemala in June. You can drop off any donations in the church office.

Pre-Teen camp is June 5th-9th. Please stop by the church office to get you registration forms. Camp is $170 this year, and the due date for payment is May 31st. If you have any questions, please contact Lajeana Long or the church office.

Our mission team leaves for Guatemala on June 9th and will return home on June 17th. Please keep the team in your prayers.

In The News…11.17.2015

The Missions Committee is planning to meet on 11.18.2015 @ 7:30 PM to discuss plans for the new year.

The Cross Plains Volunteer Fire Dept. will be hosting a Chili Supper in the Family Life Center on Friday, November 20th.


A Special Choir Practice has been scheduled for Saturday, November 21st @ 6:30 PM to meet John McCulloch. This is a pot luck event, so be sure to bring a favorite dish to share!

On Sunday, November 22nd, the Personnel Committee will recommend John McCulloch to serve as Music/Education Minister. He will be presented to the church on Sunday morning in “View of Call.”


We will have our Thanksgiving Banquet on Sunday November 22nd immediately following the morning worship service. All of the food for the meal will be provided, but feel free to bring a dessert to share! We hope to see you there.

All church activities for Sunday November 22nd are cancelled.


Cook Children’s Ministry will be headed to Ft. Worth on Tuesday, November 24th.  Please contact the church office if you would like to assist with this ministry and experience it firsthand!


All church activities for Wednesday November 25th are cancelled due to Thanksgiving holiday.

If your child is participating in the Ski Bible Conference in December, please plan to attend the meeting scheduled on November 29th immediately following Sunday morning worship services. We have a lot of information to give you, and we need to pass out some documentation that you will need to sign and return in order for your child to go on the trip.

We collected 37 shoeboxes this year to donate to the Operation Christmas Child shoebox drive. Way to go!

In The News….10/06/15

Financial Peace University class meets tonight @ 6:30pm. If you didn’t sign up but you would like to take a class in the future, please call the church office.

Our Quarterly Business meeting will be held Wednesday, October 7th @ 6:30 PM in the Old Fellowship Hall.


The Youth Group and Women’s Ministry are asking for you help! We still need pies, cookies, cakes, and brownies for their Cake Walk booth at the Cancer Walk on October 10th.
You can bring your donations to the church office on Friday before noon, or you can drop them off at the foyer in the gym on Saturday morning.

Our revival begins on Sunday, October 11th @ 10:45 AM. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Richard Jackson, and our guest worship leader will be Philip Griffin.
Evening services will begin @ 7 PM Monday – Wednesday.
Don’t forget to pray for our revival!

The Youth Group will have a Rent-A-Student/Slave Auction on October 18th after morning worship service. There will also be a potluck lunch. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the youth that are going on the ski trip to Colorado in December.

The Youth Group will be traveling to Abilene on Saturday, October 24th to participate in a mission project with Global Samaritan. For more information, please contact Dalton Clark.


We will begin a new Small Group Bible Study called “Do You Believe?” on Sunday, October 25th @ 6:30 PM. Sign up sheets are located in the church office.

Trunk or Treat is right around the corner! We need you help! We are collecting empty gallon milk jugs to be used as decoration. Please save your milk jugs and bring them to the church office. We are hoping to collect at least 30 jugs.

Additionally, the candy donation box has been set up in the foyer of the Family Life Center for those who wish to help out with candy. If you would like to decorate your car/truck and pass out candy, please be sure to add your name to the sign up sheet located in the foyer of the Family Life Center.

The Men’s Ministry will host the Buffalo Breakfast on Friday October 2nd. If you would like to help out, please contact James Dixon or the church office.


The Men’s Ministry will be hosting Operation Reel Tree this Saturday, September 26th at Treadway Park. Registration begins at 9am. This is a free event, and lunch will be served. Dallas Holm will be the guest speaker, as well as B.C. Davis and his award winning retriever, Dee. There will also be a brisket cook-off, a bow shooting competition, and a chance to win several different door prizes.


The Dallas Holm concert will be held on Sunday September 27th @ 6:30pm. This is a free event, but a love offering will be taken.

Due to the concert… all small groups, Bible Drill, and youth small groups will be cancelled. All activities will resume on Sunday October 4th.


The youth and Women’s Ministry will have a Cake Walk booth at the Cancer Walk on October 10th. If you would like to donate a cake for this event, please contact Doris Cox or the church office.

It’s almost time for our Fall Revival! It will start on Sunday October 11th and go through Wednesday October 14th. Dr. Richard Jackson will be preaching, and Phillip Griffin will be our worship leader. Don’t forget to pray it up!

They are taking chicken enchiladas, salad, hot sauce, and homemade desserts to the families of children at the hospital.  Please contact the church office if you would like to assist with this ministry this afternoon, and experience it firsthand!

We are taking 36+ people to Eastland on Saturday August 29th to see War Room at the Majestic Theater. If you did not sign up but would like a ticket, you can contact the church office or First Baptist Church of Eastland to see if there are any tickets still available. We would love for you to join us!


The second session of Small Group Bible Studies will be held on Sunday August 30th @ 6:30pm.
Bible Drill will also be held that Sunday from 6:30-8:00pm.
We are now offering a Youth Bible Drill for students in 7th, 8th & 9th grades. If you are interested, please let us know!

We will commission new Sunday School teachers on Sunday September 6th @ 10:45am. We will also do baby dedications at that time. If you are interested in a baby dedication for your child, please contact the church office.

Men’s Ministry is meeting on August 18th @ 6:30 PM. Hamburgers will be provided!


The Children’s Ministry Kick-Off party will be held on August 19th @ 6:30 PM in the choir room. Parents are invited to come and sign their children up for Children’s Choir and/or Bible Drill. Cookies and punch will be provided. We hope to see you there!

Small group bible studies will begin on August 23rd. We are offering two different studies, so you can choose which one you’d like to participate in. Your options are Unseen, but Certain OR War Room. Be sure to check out our Facebook page to watch the videos on each study. Hopefully, this will help you decide! Make sure to leave a comment on Facebook or call the church office to sign up for one.


Bible Drill will also begin on August 23rd @ 6:30 PM.
