A Bible Drill Leader’s meeting has been scheduled for today @ 5:30 pm in the church office.
The Guatemala Mission Team will be sharing their experiences with us on Sunday August 16th during the Sunday evening worship service. You won’t want to miss this!
Dwayne Hutchins will be sharing his testimony on August 16th during the Sunday morning worship service.
Ladies Living Alone will have their luncheon on August 17th @ 11:45 AM at the First United Methodist Church.
Men’s Ministry is meeting on August 18th @ 6:30 PM. Hamburgers will be provided!
YOUTH PARENTS… Mark your calendars!! A Parents Meeting will be held on August 20th. Be sure to attend so that you get all the information on upcoming events and important info on the ski trip we are planning!
Small group bible studies will begin on August 23rd. We are offering two different studies, so you can choose which one you’d like to participate in. Your options are Unseen, but Certain OR War Room. Be sure to check out our Facebook page to watch the videos on each study. Hopefully, this will help you decide! Make sure to leave a comment on Facebook or call the church office to sign up for one.

School begins on August 24th!
Cook’s Chidren’s Ministry will be headed to Ft. Worth on Tuesday, August 25th. Please contact the church office if you would like to assist with this ministry!
Financial Peace University will begin on August 25th @ 6:30pm. The cost is $45 per family, and the registration deadline is August 21st. Please call or come by the church office to sign up!

We have a new Youth Pastor! Please welcome Dalton Clark to FBC Cross Plains. His love for the Lord is infectious and we are excited to see how he will lead us in making disciples among the emerging generations.
The Women’s Bible Study will meet at 6:00pm for their last session on Gideon in the Old Fellowship Hall. If you missed out on this study, be sure to sign up for one of the next studies that begins on August 23rd. There are two options: War Room and Unseen, but Certain. Contact the church office to sign up today!
There is a Deacon’s Meeting tonight @ 7pm.
There is a Women’s Ministry meeting tonight @ 7pm.
The next Business Meeting will be August 5th, and the Budget/Finance Committee meeting will begin directly after the close of the Business Meeting in the Old Fellowship Hall.
The Youth Lock-In will be held on August 7th-8th in the Family Life Center. Plan to drop off @ 7pm on August 7th and pick up @ 1pm on August 8th. Those attending will need to bring a pillow, sleeping bag, a change of clothing, and toiletries. Since we will need to make plans for meals, the deadline for sign-up is Wednesday August 5th so be sure to call the church office if you or your child plans to attend!

Two Bible Studies…You Choose!

We are offering TWO different Small Group Bible Studies! You can choose which one you want to take.
Both 6-week studies will start on August 23rd and go through September 27th. They will be held at the church
@ 6:30pm on SUNDAY nights.
UNSEEN, BUT CERTAIN
We live in a culture where people believe in the stories, books, & movies that deal with “the unseen.” If we want to know about these spiritual realities, our source must come from the Bible. This six week study will focus on the spiritual realities of the unseen, and help you to realize that they are certain.
WAR ROOM
From the creators of Fireproof and Courageous, War Room is a compelling drama with humor & heart that explores the power that prayer can have on marriages, parenting, careers, friendships, and every other area of our lives. This six week study is a vivid reminder that prayer is a powerful weapon.

A huge thank you goes out to all of our “everyday heroes” who volunteered their time and/or donated salads and desserts for the Cook’s Children’s Ministry. If you weren’t able to help out this month and you are interested in being a part of this ministry, please call the church office to find out how you can be an “everyday hero,” too!
Marguerite Ransdell’s 100th birthday party will be held on August 2nd @ the Family Life Center from 2pm-4pm. Feel free to bring a birthday card to add to her surprise “card tree.”
The Women’s Bible Study group will meet for their last session on Gideon on August 3rd. If you missed out on this bible study, don’t worry. We have other bible study groups planned, so stay tuned!
The Deacon’s Meeting will be held on Monday August 3rd @ 7pm.
There will be a Women’s Ministry meeting on Monday August 3rd @ 7pm.
The Church Business meeting will be held on Wednesday August 5th.
The Youth Group will be in the Family Life Center on August 7th & 8th for the Youth Lock-In. The boys will be cooking supper with the Women’s Ministry and the girls will be changing flat tires with the Men’s Ministry! The fun starts on August 7th @ 7pm. and they will be released on August 8th @ 1pm.
We are planning to do the Lord’s Supper on August 9th during the Sunday evening worship service. We hope to see you there!

Our Mission Team is Back from Guatemala! They successfully installed 30 stoves, and the medical and eye clinics were both great successes. They had several professions of faith, and they have many wonderful stories to share. A heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to each of you who prayed for the team while they were in Guatemala.
The Youth Group will be traveling to New Braunfels on July 21st for their Schlitterbahn trip. They are leaving the church at 6:30 am. If your child is attending, be sure that he/she has a signed permission slip, a towel, a change of clothing, sunscreen, and $10!
The Cook’s Children’s Ministry is gearing up for another trip to Ft. Worth on July 28th. If you would like to witness firsthand what this ministry is all about, please consider traveling with the team to the hospital. Otherwise, we are still searching for volunteers to prepare salads and desserts for this trip. If you would like to help out, call the church office to sign up!
The Women’s Ministry is planning an Adult Birthday Party celebration on July 26th @ 6:30pm in the Family Life Center. It is pot luck, so bring your favorite dish to share. This will be a great time of fun and fellowship with your church family, so please make plans to join us!!
There will be a blood drive in front of the church on July 21st from 1pm – 6pm. Please consider donating to this very worthy cause if you can.

Our Guatemala Mission Team has landed safely, and it’s important that we keep them lifted up in prayer while they continue to do the work they were called to do. The church sanctuary will be open every day this week from 7:30am to 5pm. Please feel free to come in and “Pray It Up!”
The Women’s Bible Study has been very popular! If you didn’t get a chance to do this study, don’t worry! Other small group studies will be available in the future!
The youth group will be headed to Schlitterbahn on July 21st. If your child is planning to attend, please make sure you complete and return the medical release form. Each child should bring a towel, a change of clothes for the return trip home, and plenty of sunscreen!
